En Chennai Young Chennai album will be released on Chennai Day following an award ceremony honouring young brave hearts.
Chennai, August 17, 2021: En Chennai Young Chennai (#Youngchennai) is an initiative to celebrate the spirit of Chennai’s Youth on Chennai day. Spirited youngsters who came together without any expectations to make Chennai city better and safer. Young Chennai is neither defined by its heritage nor historical significance. The true spirit of young Chennai is about Camaraderie and Co-opting for the benefit of society and its common cause.
Chennai has music coursing through its veins. Be the traditional Carnatic Music, Sophisticated Jazz, spiritualistic bhajans, soothing cine music, Fusion led Jugalbandi, fashionable Local Rap or Chennai’s very own GAANA.
There are many rousing anthems for Chennai but the #ECYC anthem is not yet another one of them eulogizing Chennai. #ECYC anthem is a fitting tribute to the musical lineage of Chennai while also capturing the spirit and essence of #Young Chennai, musically in a high energy format. En Chennai Young Chennai teaser released last week has received a euphoric response from passionate Chennai youth. Their overwhelming support has made the anthem viral. The whole idea of #ECYC Anthem is to lift the Spirit of Chennai, during and post the pandemic. The young generation has always led others and has been a beacon for older and future generations earning the tag – EN CHENNAI YOUNG CHENNAI.
Chennai Anthem is composed by ‘Enna Mayilu” fame Britto Michael. The star-studded singers line up includes Anthony Dasan, Tony Sabastian from Mumbai (Dopeadelicz) and Alka Ajit while the lyrics are by Nishanth Raju.
As citizens of Chennai who live and love this Magnificent city, the founders of @The Idea Factory (Sunder, Shankar & Prakash) a start-up, thought of giving back to the city through this Anthem tribute. They understand that the spirit of Chennai is lifted by young people and their never say die attitude.

This unique and innovative award recognises unsung Heroes across genders whose relentless service and selfless effort has revived Chennai after calamity and the pandemic. The Awards Jury is headed by renowned journalist, Mr Vallidasan. He previously edited Aval Vikatan and was associated with the Kungumam group of publications.

The Launch of the anthem and the awards is scheduled for 22nd August to commemorate Madras Day, at Le Magic Studios, Nungambakkam.
