ALLEN Career Institute
Chennai : commenced its journey in 2019 and is currently celebrating its 6th year of mentoring excellence with the Annual Felicitation Program – “SOPAN.” This event honors students who have achieved national recognition in various Olympiads, IIT JEE, and NEET (UG). The ceremony took place at KamarajArangam, Chennai, on January 27, 2024, marking the third edition of SOPAN in Chennai.
In this edition of SOPAN, a special video commemorating the journey, essence, and philosophy of mentoring, as well as the jubilant success, was launched.
The event unfolded in two sessions. In the morning, laurels were bestowed upon students who excelled in Olympiads and secured top ranks in JEE Main 2023 & IIT JEE 2023. In the evening, students who qualified in NEET (UG) 2023, along with those who performed exceptionally well in internal examinations, were felicitated.
Eminent personalities from society graced the occasion as special guests:
∙ Padmashri Dr. V Mohan, MD, FRCP (London), Ph.D., Chairman of Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Center.
∙ Shri A.D. Mohan Raj (Retd.), Additional Deputy Commissioner, with an illustrious career spanning 35 years in the Police department and excelling in sports.
∙ Shri K Shankar, B Tech Mechanical from IIT Madras, joined the Indian Police Service 27 years ago and is currently serving as COP Avadi.
∙ Shri V Nanda Kumar (IRS), Commissioner of Income Tax, Department of Revenue.
∙ The ALLEN Family was represented by Shri Mahesh Yadav, Zonal Head ALLEN South India, a M.Sc. Chemistry Gold Medalist, and Topper of the University of Rajasthan with an illustrious mentoring career of 22 years.
∙ Dr. Harish Sharma, a renowned Child Psychologist, Psychometrician, Parenting & Life Coach, and Career Counselor, conducted a session for the super achievers and future aspiring achievers on Stress Management & How to improve concentration during examinations.
Shri Santosh Singh, B Tech NIT Jalandhar Head ALLEN Tamil Nadu centers, with a mentoring career of 15 years in the test preparation industry, hosted the august gathering of dignitaries, students, and parents.
ALLEN has a tradition of felicitating students with puja-performed pure Silver medals for super achievers and as a token of appreciation for students currently studying at ALLEN who are performing exceedingly well in internal examinations. This edition of SOPAN witnessed 624 students studying in class 6 to class 12 being felicitated in both sessions.
Super Achievers in various Olympiads, IIT JEE, and NEET (UG) 2023 were also awarded Cash rewards, Mementos, and Silver medals in this SOPAN edition. Thirty-one students who qualified in various Olympiads and made the nation proud were awarded with Cash Rewards amounting to Rs. 2,70,600.
Fourteen IIT-JEE 2023 Super achievers were felicitated with cash rewards amounting to Rs 5,12,500.
Notable mentions include:
∙NiralCharan, a local Chennai Boy currently studying in IIT Bombay, who secured AIR54 in JEE Mains & AIR 48 in IIT JEE Advanced, was felicitated with a cash reward of Rs. 4,00,000.
∙ Vijay Balaji .N.M, currently studying in IIT Delhi, secured AIR 183 in JEE Mains & AIR 169 in IIT JEE Advanced and has been felicitated with Rs. 1,00,000.
∙ BalaDharnesh, currently studying in IIT Kharagpur, secured AIR 348 in JEE Mains & AIR 246 in IIT JEE Advanced, and was awarded with a cash reward amounting toRs. 51,000.
∙ RaginiVijayabaskar, proud daughter of Chennai currently studying in IIT Madras, secured AIR 1014 & AIR 426 in IIT JEE Advanced, and was awarded with a cash reward amounting to Rs. 51,000.
Nineteen students who have been super achievers with the best All India Ranks and walked into prestigious Government Medical Colleges in the All India Quota were awarded with a cash reward of Rs. 2,11,800.
∙ Three students from Chennai who walked into AFMC Pune, i.e., Armed Forces Medical College Pune, were awardees with Rs. 27,100. They are Gopikrishnan.R, Jayaaditya.S, C. Venkateswaran, the super achievers who walked into this prestigious college.
∙ Keerthana .V scored 676 marks in NEET(UG) 2023 and walked into AIIMS Nagpur, being rewarded with a cash reward of Rs. 11,000.
∙ Aditya, currently studying in JIMPER, scored 693 marks in NEET(UG) 2023, and was awardee with a cash reward of Rs. 51,000.
∙ Harish .S, currently studying in Madras Medical College, securing 690 marks in NEET (UG), was rewarded with a cash reward of Rs. 21,000.
On this occasion, Dejasvarthini, an alumna of ALLEN Chennai currently studying in AIIMS Nagpur, came all the way from Nagpur to inspire students who are aspiring to make their mark in future competitions and also shared insights into life at a medical college. A true story of triumph over circumstances and steely resolve filled with grit & determination.
School Principals & Correspondents graced this occasion and felicitated the students, showering their blessings.
ALLEN Students studying in class 6 to 12th performed on various cultural themes ranging from Bharatnatyam to dance performances to instrumentals.
Mahesh Yadav sir shared insights into the entire mentoring process, stating, “Looking at the way ALLEN Chennai faculty members have put their heart and soul into nurturing the students and the commitment of talent of Chennai, paying their Gurudakshina by way of walking to Institutes of Excellence and winning laurels in Olympiads, I see that Chennai students will occupy top ranks and mind space of the fraternity of aspirants, inspiring them to shine brightly.”
Santosh Singh sir summed up the entire proceedings of the day, saying, “The philosophy of ALLEN’s mentoring and its essence is being amply displayed by the talent of Chennai. I thank our mother campus ALLEN Bangalore and ALLEN Kota for unstinting support that always inspires us to keep the flag of mentoring flying high.”
