Former Chinese DM Li Shangfu Expelled from Communist Party
Former Chinese Defence Minister Li Shangfu has been expelled from the Communist Party after being abruptly sacked last year under unspecified circumstances. State media reported that the decision was made by the Politburo, citing Mr. Li’s betrayal of his mission and loss of party principles.
He is accused of severely compromising the political and industrial integrity in military equipment, causing significant harm to national defense and armed forces construction. The expulsion also involves transferring his alleged criminal issues related to bribery to military procuratorial organs for further review and prosecution.
