Mistaken Identity Leads to Tragic Death of Migrant Worker in Chengalpattu

A tragic incident unfolded in Nathamedu village, Chengalpattu district, where 23-year-old migrant worker Lekshmi Layog from West Bengal was fatally beaten after being mistaken for a thief. Layog, who was searching for directions to a Tasmac outlet, accidentally entered the village and was assaulted by residents.

Despite receiving treatment at the Government Chengalpattu Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. Police have arrested three villagers, M. Veera, B. Gopinathan, and S. Jegannathan, on charges of murder.
