Prohibitory Orders Imposed Amid Actor Darshan’s Arrest
In response to escalating unrest caused by supporters of actor Darshan, accused in a murder case, Bengaluru authorities have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC around Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station. Fans, gathering in large numbers, created disruptions, necessitating a mild lathi-charge by police during Darshan’s spot mahazar.
The orders, effective from June 13 to 17, aim to prevent gatherings and protests, ensuring public safety and order. The media reported being mishandled by police, prompting an inquiry by Home Minister G. Parameshwar. The investigation into Darshan’s and his associates’ involvement in the murder continues.
