Indians Among Victims of Kuwait Apartment Fire
Tragedy struck in Kuwait as a major fire engulfed a six-storey building in Mangaf, claiming the lives of 41 people, including several Indians, who were reportedly workers residing in the building. The fire, which started in a kitchen in the early hours of Wednesday, left nearly 160 individuals, all workers of the same company, affected by the devastating blaze.
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait swiftly established an emergency helpline to provide updates and assistance to concerned individuals. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed deep shock over the incident, extending condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured. Kuwait’s Interior Minister ordered authorities to apprehend those responsible for the building’s safety lapses, emphasizing the need for immediate action to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
