SC Denies Bail for Manish Sisodia in Excise Policy Case
The Supreme Court declined to grant bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in the Delhi liquor policy case on June 4. Justices Aravind Kumar and Sandeep Mehta of the Vacation Bench refused to comment on the case’s merits but allowed Sisodia to renew his bail plea once the final chargesheet is filed by the CBI or ED before July 3, 2024.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta assured that the chargesheet would be submitted by the specified date. While the court did not specify the avenue for Sisodia to pursue bail, it granted him the liberty to restart his plea process. This decision comes after the Delhi High Court’s refusal to grant Sisodia bail on May 21.
