Arrest of Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna on Return from Germany

Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna was apprehended by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at Kempegowda International Airport upon his arrival from Munich on May 31. The 33-year-old MP, facing charges of sexual abuse, was taken into custody immediately after landing around 12:30 a.m. and escorted to the CID office for questioning.

His arrest follows a month-long absence from the country, during which explicit video clips allegedly involving him surfaced. Heavy police presence ensured his secure transfer from the airport, and his anticipatory bail plea is pending a court hearing. Revanna, the grandson of former PM H.D. Deve Gowda, had committed to appearing before the SIT on May 31 in a previously released video message.
