Russian Domain Used to Send Threat Emails to Delhi Schools

Investigation into the bomb threat emails sent to over 80 schools across Delhi-NCR on May 1 morning has revealed that the emails originated from a server located in Russia. Sources suggest that a single IP address was used to send the threatening emails to all schools. The Cyber team of the Delhi Police has joined the investigation, tracking the IP address of the email sender. While the email address used had a Russian domain, it is yet to be confirmed if the email actually originated from Russia.

The Cyber team is confident of tracing the IP address despite the use of a VPN connection to mask the original IP address. Additionally, it is suspected that the Dark Web might have been used to send the threat emails. The Delhi Police, along with the Noida and Ghaziabad police, is conducting a joint investigation to address the situation. Despite the threats, no dangerous devices or suspicious activities were found in any of the affected schools, confirmed the Delhi Government’s Directorate of Education.
