Four convicted, 10 acquitted in 2015 Malvani hooch tragedy
A sessions court in Mumbai convicted 4 accused and acquitted 10 others in the 2015 hooch tragedy, more than 100 people lost their lives. The convicted individuals, Raju Tapkar, Donald Patel, Francis D’mello, and Mansoor Khan, were found guilty of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide not amounting to murder, and other charges.
The court will hear arguments on sentencing on May 6. During the trial, the prosecution highlighted that the deaths caused by consuming spurious liquor in the State were extremely rare, making this case unique.
