Chennai Election Day Remains Peaceful, Says Police Commissioner
Chennai Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore announced that the polling day in the city remained peaceful, with no untoward incidents reported. After inspecting bandobust arrangements at several polling stations, Rathore assured that the polling process proceeded smoothly and peacefully across all constituencies.
Elaborate security arrangements were made at 1,196 polling stations and over 5,000 polling booths, with an additional focus on 898 vulnerable booths. Over 20,000 personnel were deployed for election-related security, ensuring a hassle-free voting process. Rathore also outlined a four-layer security arrangement for the three counting centers, ensuring security until counting day.
