TMC Leaders’ Persistent Dharna at Mandir Marg Police Station
Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders, including Derek O’Brien and Saket Gokhale, continued their dharna at Delhi’s Mandir Marg police station following their detention by Delhi Police. The leaders had staged a protest outside the Election Commission’s office, demanding changes in the heads of various investigative agencies, alleging bias towards the ruling BJP.
Despite being released by police on Monday night, the TMC leaders remained at the police station, asserting their protest for 24 hours. While some leaders were allowed inside the station premises, others, like Mohammed Nadimul Haque and Sagarika Ghose, were barred from re-entering. The TMC’s persistent demonstration reflects their accusations of central agencies targeting opposition parties, a narrative echoed by the party amidst ongoing Lok Sabha elections. AAP leaders, including Saurabh Bharadwaj, expressed solidarity with the TMC leaders, condemning the alleged misuse of investigative agencies for political gains.
