Iran Vows Retaliation for Airstrike on Consulate in Syria
Following an airstrike widely attributed to Israel that destroyed Iran’s Consulate in Syria and killed seven members of the Revolutionary Guard, Iran’s commander General Hossein Salami vowed retaliation, stating that “no threat will go unanswered.”
Thousands marched in Tehran chanting anti-Israel and anti-America slogans during the funeral procession of the killed officers. Salami, addressing the protesters, emphasized Iran’s readiness to respond and criticized the U.S. for its support of Israel. The incident occurred amidst heightened tensions and fears of further escalation in the region.
