Centre’s Commitment to Procure Paddy Boosts Telangana Agriculture
Telangana BJP president and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy announced the Centre’s decision to procure 50 lakh tonnes of paddy from Telangana this season, demonstrating a significant commitment to support the state’s agriculture sector. Reddy emphasized that the Centre’s agreement to purchase the entire produce of boiled rice underscores its dedication to ensuring a fair deal for Telangana farmers.
However, he criticized the state government’s response to drought-like conditions, highlighting issues such as falling water tables and crop failures. Reddy urged the government to fulfill promises made to farmers, including farm loan waivers and financial assistance, while also calling for protest programs to address government failures. Additionally, Reddy emphasized the Modi government’s focus on infrastructure development and economic growth, citing significant achievements in road and railway infrastructure, as well as reductions in inflation and unemployment rates.
