Annamalai and Jairam Ramesh Clash Over Textile Industry and Cyclone Relief

A heated exchange erupted between BJP State President K. Annamalai and senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh over the state of India’s MSME manufacturing capacities and relief efforts post-Cyclone Michaung. Ramesh criticized the Modi government for allegedly destroying MSMEs with policies like demonetization and GST.

He also accused Tamil Nadu’s Textile Minister of corruption in the free dhotis scheme. Meanwhile, Annamalai countered by disputing the amount of relief funds requested by Tamil Nadu for cyclone rehabilitation, claiming it was inflated. The exchange highlights ongoing tensions between political parties over economic policies and disaster response efforts.
