5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Balochistan, Pakistan

Balochistan province in Pakistan experienced a 5.4-magnitude earthquake on March 19, 2024, with its epicenter located 150 kilometers northwest of Quetta. Although there were no immediate reports of casualties, the quake was felt in various areas including Quetta, Noshki, Chagi, and Chaman.

The depth of the quake was recorded at 35 kilometers. While the tremors were also felt along the Pakistan-Iran border, authorities have not reported any significant damage. However, Balochistan has a history of earthquakes, with past events resulting in loss of lives, injuries, and widespread destruction to buildings and infrastructure.
