Police Display Exemplary Honesty in Recovering Lost Valuables

In a commendable display of honesty and efficiency, the city police have successfully recovered 40 sovereigns of gold jewelry, silver coins, and ₹61,404 in cash lost by a woman. V. Sundaram, who found the woman’s handbag on his two-wheeler near Kathipara junction in Guindy, promptly reported it to the Thomas Mount Police Station.

Through meticulous analysis of CCTV footage, the police identified the owner, Jhansi Rani, 54, of Maduvinkarai, Guindy, who had inadvertently left the bag behind due to illness. The valuables were returned to her family members, with City Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore lauding Sundaram’s integrity for his prompt action in handing over the bag to the authorities. This incident highlights the dedication of law enforcement in ensuring justice and restoring faith in community integrity.
