Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul Advocates Education Over Literacy

Addressing the diamond jubilee celebration of Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust (BMKT) in Chennai, former Supreme Court Judge Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul emphasized the importance of education over mere literacy in empowering children. He highlighted Tamil Nadu’s success in education while cautioning against losing empathy in the pursuit of economic growth.

The event also saw BMKT officials discussing the significant impact they’ve had on children, with the number increasing threefold in the past five years. As part of the celebration, various events were organized, including a sarva-dharma prayer and the release of a coffee table book on Bala Mandir’s history. Andal Damodaran, President of the Indian Council for Child Welfare, Tamil Nadu, fondly recalled the institution’s dedication to nurturing children.
