Sharmila Criticizes Jagan and Naidu’s Silence on BJP’s Bifurcation Promises
During a ‘Nyaya Sadhana Sabha’ organized by the APCC, Y.S. Sharmila criticized both Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu for their silence on BJP’s unfulfilled promises regarding bifurcation. Sharmila emphasized that none of the commitments made to Andhra Pradesh in the A.P. Reorganisation Act has been honored by the BJP-led government at the Centre.
She accused both ruling and opposition parties of becoming subservient to the saffron party, despite its failure to deliver on crucial projects and assurances worth ₹15 lakh crore. Sharmila’s entry into Andhra politics, she clarified, stemmed from the absence of a strong leader advocating for Special Category Status (SCS) for the state. She emphasized that development and employment in Andhra can only be achieved with the accord of SCS, reiterating Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s assurance to support the cause.
