Retired Karnataka Civil Servants Call for Halt to Syed Naseer Hussain’s Oath
A collective of 22 retired all-India service officers from Karnataka has petitioned Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, urging him, as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, to postpone the administration of the oath of office to newly-elected member Syed Naseer Hussain.
Their plea stems from allegations of Hussain’s involvement in raising ‘Pakistan zindabad’ slogans in the corridors of the Karnataka secretariat, following his Rajya Sabha election victory. The retired officers advocate for delaying the oath until Hussain is cleared of the accusations, emphasizing the need to uphold the integrity of parliamentary proceedings and prevent such incidents in the future.
