Unique Surgery Experience: Watching Ayodhya Ram Mandir Opening During Awake Brain Surgery
In a remarkable medical feat, doctors at Sri Sai Hospital in Guntur performed awake brain surgery on a patient while he watched the Ayodhya Ram Mandir’s opening ceremony. The one-and-a-half-hour procedure, conducted under the Andhra Pradesh government’s Aarogyasri health scheme, aimed to address a tumour in the patient’s left brain, affecting the right side of his body.
Senior neurosurgeon Dr. Hanuma Srinivasa Reddy, who led the surgery, highlighted the necessity of the awake procedure to prevent potential complications like paralysis and speech impairment. Despite the unique circumstances, the patient responded well during the surgery, and his condition is now stable, leading to his discharge from the hospital.
