Delhi HC Disposes of Petition Against Rahul Gandhi for Alleged Revealing of Rape Victim’s Identity

The Delhi High Court has disposed of a petition seeking the registration of an FIR against Rahul Gandhi for allegedly revealing the identity of a rape victim in a social media post. The court noted submissions from Rahul Gandhi, the Delhi Police, and social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The police informed the court that an FIR was already lodged against Gandhi, and further investigation is ongoing.

Rahul Gandhi’s counsel stated that he had taken down the tweet, which disclosed the identity of a minor Dalit girl allegedly raped and murdered. The court, satisfied with the actions taken, disposed of the petition filed by social activist Makarand Suresh Mhadlekar in 2021.
