Chennai Police Arrest Suspect in Abduction Over Monetary Dispute
Chennai’s Pondy Bazaar Police have apprehended one individual in connection with the abduction of two persons over a monetary dispute. The incident involved A. Abdul Rahuman, an employee at a money exchange company, who had allegedly misappropriated ₹13 lakh meant for a money transfer. In retaliation, the company owner, Ayub, and three others abducted Rahuman and his brother-in-law, Sheikbeer Hamsa, confining them in a T. Nagar lodge.
The victims were reportedly assaulted and threatened until they were released. The police arrested one suspect, Syed Abudakir, while Ayub and another accomplice remain at large. An investigation is ongoing, and charges have been filed based on a complaint from Rahuman’s father, Alauddin.
