Ayodhya Airport Elevated to International Status and Named “Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham”
The Union Cabinet has approved to declare the Ayodhya airport as an international airport and bestowed upon it the name “Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham.” This move is aimed at realizing Ayodhya’s economic potential and recognizing its significance as a global pilgrimage site. By elevating the airport to international status, it is expected to attract foreign pilgrims and tourists, fostering economic growth in the region.
The chosen name pays homage to Maharishi Valmiki, the revered sage credited with composing the epic Ramayana, adding a cultural touch to the airport’s identity. Positioned strategically, Ayodhya is poised to emerge as a key economic hub and pilgrimage site, with the airport playing a pivotal role in facilitating international connectivity and fostering cultural exchange.
