Greater Chennai Corporation to Relay Roads in Guindy, Ambattur Industrial Estates

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) is set to relay approximately 15 km of industrial estate roads in Guindy and Ambattur, entrusted by the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (TANSIDCO). The relaying project aims to be completed by January 7, 2024, coinciding with the scheduled Global Investors Meet 2024.

The GCC has allocated ₹7.561 crore for the initiative, which will be executed by the Bus Route Roads Department after the rollout of e-tenders and sanctioning of work orders. The MoU signed between TANSIDCO and GCC outlines continued operation and maintenance responsibilities for TANSIDCO, with designated personnel overseeing the road construction. A total of 12 roads in Guindy and 11 km of roads in Ambattur will undergo relaying as part of this effort.
