Mayawati’s PM Candidacy a Condition for BSP’s Entry into INDIA Alliance
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has set a crucial condition for considering its entry into the INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) bloc for the 2024 Lok Sabha election. BSP MP Malook Nagar stated that the party would contemplate joining the alliance only if BSP President Mayawati is projected as the prime ministerial candidate.
Nagar emphasized that projecting Mayawati would help the alliance secure over 50% of the votes, providing a strong opposition to the BJP. He also suggested that the Congress must apologize for poaching BSP MLAs in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan to gain Mayawati’s positive approach toward the alliance offer. Mayawati is seen as a prominent Dalit leader with support cutting across states.
