Congress Accuses Modi Ecosystem of Distraction Amid Suspension Row
The Congress has accused the “entire Modi ecosystem” of diverting attention from the suspension of over 140 MPs by focusing on the “so-called mimicry non-issue.” Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh highlighted the silence on how a BJP MP facilitated the entry of intruders into the Lok Sabha and criticized the suspension of MPs for a legitimate demand.
Prime Minister Modi expressed concern over the “abject theatrics” of some MPs, referring to Trinamool Congress leader Kalyan Banerjee’s mimicry of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. The BJP criticized Rahul Gandhi for recording the mimicry, escalating the political row. The suspension of 142 MPs has sparked nationwide anti-government protests by the INDIA coalition.
