Valluvar Kottam Bridge Construction to Commence Post Pongal

Chennai Corporation is gearing up to initiate the construction of the long-awaited four-lane bridge near Valluvar Kottam after Pongal, with tenders set to be floated soon. The project aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Nungambakkam and T. Nagar, easing the flow towards Vadapalani from the Gemini flyover. With the land acquisition process nearing completion, the Corporation plans to issue the work order in January once the tender is finalized.

The construction, expected to take 18 months, will enhance connectivity and convenience for commuters in the area. The project’s revised plan aims to minimize the impact on private properties, with public consultations and social impact assessments scheduled to facilitate a smooth execution.
