Philanthropist and Wife Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances in Karnataka

In a tragic incident, a well-known philanthropist and his wife were discovered dead at their residence in Karnataka’s Udupi district. The deceased, identified as Leeladhar Shetty (68) and Vasundhara Shetty (58), were found hanging in their home in Kapu town. Leeladhar Shetty was a renowned artist and the founder of the Rangataranga theatre group.

The couple, recipients of various awards for their societal contributions, are suspected to have died by suicide, with a family dispute being considered a possible trigger. While sources mention the discovery of a suicide note, official statements from the police are pending. The Kapu police are currently investigating the incident.
