Promenade Construction Along North Chennai Beach to Commence in Two Weeks
The construction of a promenade along the beach in north Chennai is set to commence within two weeks, according to P.K. Sekarbabu, the Minister for Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority. Covering a 5 km stretch from Kasimedu to Tiruvottiyur, the promenade aims to enhance the beachfront and prevent pollution.
The project will feature various amenities, including a children’s play area, sculpture garden, urban gym, broadwalk, gazebos, and toilets. The Kasimedu portion is expected to be completed in six months, while the Tiruvottiyur section, designed to attract tourists, will cover over 2 km. The project also involves the construction of bus stands in several north Chennai areas, including R.K. Nagar, Kolathur, Thiru. Vi. Ka. Nagar, and Mullai Nagar.
