Assam Police Busts Interstate Drug Peddling Operation, Seizes Narcotics Worth Rs 11 Crore
Assam Police successfully thwarted an interstate drug peddling attempt, apprehending two Manipur natives and seizing 1.35 kg of narcotics with an estimated market value of Rs 11 crore. The Special Task Force DIG, Partha Sarathi Mahanta, revealed that the heroin was concealed in 98 packets and recovered from the two individuals in the Amingaon area on the outskirts of Guwahati.
The arrested suspects were identified as Tomizur Rahman from Wangoi in Manipur’s Imphal West district and Abdul Rahim from Lilong in Thoubal district. The police disclosed that the consignment originated from Churachandpur district in Manipur. An ongoing investigation is underway, with the police conducting further interrogations to unravel the details of the drug trafficking operation.
