Improved Air Quality in Delhi-NCR as It Shifts from ‘Severe’ to ‘Poor’ Category
On Saturday, the air quality in Delhi-NCR showed a slight improvement, transitioning from the ‘severe’ to the ‘poor’ category, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR). The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital in the morning stood at 201, as per SAFAR. In specific areas, Anand Vihar station recorded a ‘poor’ category AQI with PM 2.5 at 203 and PM 10 at 157, both in the ‘poor’ and ‘moderate’ categories, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Bawana station reported a ‘moderate’ category PM 2.5 at 170 and PM 10 at 101. The air quality at the Indira Gandhi International Airport T3 area was categorized as ‘moderate,’ with PM 2.5 at 130 and PM 10 at 112. Despite these improvements, certain areas like Jahangirpuri recorded ‘very poor’ PM 2.5 levels at 309, while Punjabi Bagh reported ‘moderate’ levels.
