Karnataka High Court Issues Notice to Centre Over Zero NEET PG Qualifying Percentile

The Karnataka High Court has issued a notice to the Centre regarding the recent decision by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to reduce the NEET PG qualifying percentile to zero. The decision was challenged by Advocate Dr. Vinod Kulkarni from Hubballi. This surprising move by the MCC eliminates the eligibility cut-off for post-graduation seats in medical education, which has been in place since the NEET PG exam replaced other medical entrance tests in 2017.

The petitioner argues that this decision will lead to more lobbying by private medical colleges and has called for a withdrawal of the MCC’s order. Over 13,000 medical college seats across the country remain vacant despite two rounds of counselling.
