Indian Army Jawan Mitul Kalita Cremated With Military Honors in Assam

The mortal remains of Army jawan Mitul Kalita, who went missing during the recent flash floods in Sikkim, were cremated with full military honors at his native village in Assam’s Baksa district. Kalita’s body was discovered on Sunday morning after he had gone missing during the devastating floods. His remains were subsequently sent to the Anandbazaar Hatkhula area in Baksa district.

A large gathering assembled at Mitul’s residence to pay their respects. Assam cabinet Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass visited the jawan’s home to offer condolences and express his grief. Assam Chief Minister also mourned Kalita’s tragic loss and extended condolences to his bereaved family.
