Man Dies in Bus Accident While Escaping Police Custody During Inquiry
A 26-year-old plumber named Srinivasan from Kundukulam near Kancheepuram died in a tragic accident after attempting to flee from police custody. Srinivasan was taken into custody by the Prohibition Enforcement Unit for questioning regarding his alleged involvement in the illegal sale of liquor bottles. While en route to the police station on a two-wheeler, he managed to escape from the police.
Unfortunately, a bus traveling in the opposite direction struck him as he ran, causing severe injuries. Despite being rushed to the Government General Hospital in Kancheepuram, he succumbed to his injuries. In response to his death, protesters from the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi gathered at the hospital, alleging foul play and demanding a thorough inquiry into the incident.
