US Ambassador to India Responds to Criticism of US Envoy’s PoK Visit

US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, has responded to criticism regarding the recent visit by the US Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome, to Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK). Garcetti pointed out that a US delegation had also visited Jammu and Kashmir during the G20 meeting held in Srinagar. India had previously raised objections to Blome’s visit to PoK and his use of the term ‘AJK’ (Azad Jammu and Kashmir).

This development suggests that the US may be positioning Jammu and Kashmir, a legitimate part of Indian territory, as a disputed area, aligning with Pakistan’s perspective. Blome’s visit followed US Congresswoman Illhan Omar’s visit to PoK, which India strongly criticized as a violation of its territorial integrity.
