Two Arrested for Attempted Property Grab Worth ₹20 Crore in Teynampet
The Central Crime Branch’s Land Fraud Investigation Wing has apprehended two individuals for attempting to acquire property valued at ₹20 crore on Anna Salai, Teynampet, through the use of fabricated documents and impersonation. The property, which includes a three-story building, belonged to a UK-based surgeon, Dr. Manu Alexander, who had leased it to Hrdaya Trust.
When the trust defaulted on rent, the property was sublet to S. Peer Mohammed and L. Muthukrishnan, who subsequently abandoned it. Dr. Manu Alexander discovered fraudulent activities, including the creation of a general power of attorney in someone else’s name, and filed a complaint against six individuals. Following an investigation, Peer Mohammed and Sheik Abdul Khader were arrested for impersonation and document fabrication.
