Woman Raped and Murdered in Karnataka’s Yadgir District Shortly After Engagement

In a deeply distressing incident, a 35-year-old woman identified as Savitha Rathod was raped and killed in Karnataka’s Yadgir district, just days after her engagement. Savitha, a resident of Mudnal Tanda, was preparing for her upcoming wedding when tragedy struck. While one suspect, Sachin, has been apprehended by the police, they suspect this could be a case of gang rape.

The horrific incident unfolded on September 9 when Savitha went to her farm in Kanchagarahalli Cross. Later, villagers discovered her with stab wounds to her chest and ear and rushed her to a hospital in Kalaburagi. Sadly, Savitha succumbed to her injuries on Monday. Preliminary investigations revealed that she was an orphan and had been living with her specially-abled brother. The police are actively investigating the case to bring those responsible to justice.
