Prime Suspect in Trainee Air Hostess Murder Case Commits Suicide in Police Lockup

Vikram Atwal, the primary suspect in the killing of trainee air hostess Rupal Ogrey in Mumbai, has reportedly taken his own life by hanging himself in the police lockup. Atwal was arrested shortly after allegedly slitting the throat of Rupal Ogrey at her residence in Marol, Andheri East.

He was scheduled to appear in court for an extension of his police remand when the incident occurred. Atwal was found hanging in the lockup toilet by police officers after he did not emerge for an extended period. His family has been informed, and further investigations are ongoing.
