Minister Nehru Reviews Progress of Drinking Water Schemes in Tamil Nadu
Minister for Municipal Administration K. N. Nehru conducted a review of the advancement of drinking water schemes in Tamil Nadu, emphasizing the need for timely completion and ensuring water connections to households. During the meeting, he assessed the progress of various drinking water projects in Chennai and other districts, along with the maintenance and operation of the water supply network.
The Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board is currently providing around 2,104 million liters of water daily across the State. Minister Nehru directed officials to undertake cleaning of overhead tanks and underground sumps before the northeast monsoon, while also ensuring that residents are informed about alternative arrangements during maintenance of the water supply infrastructure.
