Ambattur Residents to Stage Protest for Improved Infrastructure Demands

Residents of Ambattur are gearing up for a protest on August 27, advocating for better infrastructure in their locality. Key demands include uninterrupted power supply through underground cables, enhanced bus connectivity, and the extension of the Metro Rail system. The region, now under the Greater Chennai Corporation, has witnessed increased traffic jams on the Chennai Tiruvallur High Road, prompting calls for its widening.

Residents are urging the revival of a proposal to widen the road between Padi and Thiruninravur, originally suggested two decades ago. Various citizen groups are expected to participate in the demonstration, voicing concerns about the need for a government hospital, rationalized property tax, better infrastructure in schools, and improvements at the local railway station.

The protest seeks to address these issues and draw attention to the need for enhanced amenities in the Ambattur area.
