Leopard Attack Leaves Biker Seriously Injured in Karnataka’s Vijayanagara District
In a concerning incident, a leopard attacked a bike rider identified as Praveen in Hadagali taluk of Karnataka’s Vijayanagara district on Monday. Praveen was traveling between Magala and Hirehadagali villages when the attack occurred. Hearing his cries for help, nearby farmers and passers-by rushed to his aid, causing the leopard to flee the scene.
Praveen sustained serious injuries and was promptly admitted to a hospital. This incident has sparked worry among villagers who commonly use bikes and scooters for transportation, and forest authorities have assured the public of necessary actions to address the situation.
The local population is now demanding prompt action to prevent further attacks, as leopards, which initially targeted cattle and livestock, are now posing a threat to humans. In nearby Hospet taluk, another leopard was spotted, highlighting the increasing presence of leopards in the Ballary and Vijayanagara districts according to recent surveys conducted by authorities.
