Autorickshaw Driver Arrested for Biting Passenger’s Finger During Altercation in Chennai
A 53-year-old autorickshaw driver, identified as Santhanam, was arrested by Thiruvanmiyur police in Chennai after he allegedly bit a 50-year-old passenger’s finger during an argument. The incident occurred on the East Coast Road near Vettuvankeni when the passenger, Ramu, accidentally touched the driver’s leg in a share autorickshaw.
A verbal dispute ensued and turned physical, resulting in Santhanam biting Ramu’s finger. Ramu sought medical treatment and reported the incident to the police, leading to Santhanam’s arrest. The altercation serves as a reminder of the volatile nature of disputes in public transportation settings.
