Chinese Military Conducts Joint Air and Sea Patrols and Exercises Around Taiwan
The Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has initiated joint air and sea patrols, along with military exercises involving the navy and air force, in the vicinity of Taiwan. The purpose of these maneuvers, according to Shi Yi, a spokesperson for the command, is to enhance the coordination between military aircraft and vessels and to improve their ability to establish control over air and sea territories.
Shi emphasized that the exercises aim to assess the armed forces’ preparedness for combat scenarios. He also stated that the patrols and exercises serve as a strong caution to those advocating Taiwan’s independence and engaging in collaborations with foreign entities, signaling China’s firm response to such provocations.
