Chennai Police Commissioner Assists Abandoned Elderly Woman
The Commissioner of Greater Chennai Police, Sandeep Rai Rathore, extended assistance to an 86-year-old woman who was abandoned by her son. The woman, Anusuya, submitted a petition to the Commissioner stating that she had been left alone by her son in their rented house, with him taking all her money. In response, Commissioner Rathore dispatched Sanjay Shekar, Deputy Commissioner of Triplicane, to visit her residence in person.
The Commissioner assured her that efforts would be made to locate her son, bring him back to Chennai, and ensure her well-being. The police officers also arranged for daily checks on her, established communication channels, and planned to find a suitable alternative rental house for her.
The Commissioner’s gesture of support came through the grievance redress camp, where he interacts with the public every Wednesday, addressing their concerns and offering assistance.
