US Official: Human Rights Concerns with India to be Addressed During Biden’s Visit
A senior U.S. official stated that the United States will continue to raise human rights concerns with India, both in the past and during President Joe Biden’s upcoming visit to New Delhi for the G20 Summit next month.
State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller emphasized that addressing human rights issues is a regular part of engaging with countries, including India, and the practice will continue. The official’s response comes amidst questions about whether President Biden would address alleged cases of Christian persecution in India during his visit in September.
