Rage wildfire continues near Athens
Hundreds of firefighters in Greece are battling two major wildfires near Dervenochoria and Loutraki amid extreme heat for the second consecutive day. The wildfires are approximately 30 km northwest and 80 km southwest of Athens, respectively.
No injuries have been reported, but the fires have caused significant damage to forested areas and prompted the evacuation of six settlements. Fire Service spokesperson Vasilios Vathrakogiannis provided this information in a statement issued late Tuesday.
The authorities are closely monitoring the situation to contain the wildfires and ensure the safety of residents in the affected regions.
