3 months of violence made 3 million people to be displaced
The violence in Sudan that began in April has had a devastating impact, leading to the displacement of over 3 million people, with approximately half of them being children, according to the United Nations Humanitarians. In a recent update by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and Unicef, it was reported that around 1.5 million children have been forced to leave their homes, with some remaining within Sudan itself.
The situation is dire, as approximately 13.6 million children in Sudan, or one in every two children, require urgent humanitarian assistance. The scale of the crisis highlights the urgent need for international support and resources to provide relief and support to the affected population, particularly the vulnerable children who are disproportionately impacted by the violence and displacement.
