Bengal government accused of diverting funds of Odisha train accident
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is all set to pay compensation to the families of the victims of the Odisha triple train tragedy. The leader of the opposition pointed out that compensation to the victims of the train accident should be given from the chief minister’s relief fund.
Last time the same thing happened for the families of the victims of the Bogtui carnage, funds allocated for the mid-day meal scheme were diverted to pay the compensation. And the state government has no authority to spend the money under the Building and other Construction worker’s welfare boards, he added. Till now the report was filed there was no reaction from Trinamool Congress on this count.
