What is Depression?
The word depress is common usage mean sad, frustrated, fed up and bored. the mood of a depressed. The mood of a depressed person is likely to be lower at his best moments than the mood of the normal person at his or her worst. Depression is a state of mind . It is a specifically a mental discorded characterized by a lowering of the individual morality, mood, hopes and desires.
Depression because of environmental factors is called reactive depression .If depression is mild or moderate and if the individual is in touch with his surroundings it is known as neurotic depression. if the individual is very disturbed and is not able to acknowledge what is happening around that stage is called psychotic depression.
There is a rapid change in society which is leading to the breaking up of a joint families and property. With change in time, modifications of marriage and family have diminished the control of parents over their children. It has increased the freedom of children and which is result of increased a gap between both age groups. These changes generally bring depression in older people. Added to these, the interactional stress, lack of communication and strain in the family may leave people without peace of mind. This is causing depression in children as they are spending more time with their gadgets rather with their friends and family as everyone is busy these days. Nuclear family decision has came out as a big objective as source of depression in kids.
There is a race going on in young people’s mind to be successful in short span of time. Doing overtimes and stressing out in downfalls, sleepless nights to achieve heights in less period can also cause depression. People are being so desperate to achieve goals that they are not ready to face failures. They constantly start thinking that they are useless as they are not able to get what they wanted despite doing everything.
Usually, the depression which is caused due to environmental factors is temporary. The person can recover in short time. Kind words, and timely support of friends, relatives and family members can help the person to boost up confidence and give ability to fight back with depression. But there are many sort of therapies that can help people. One should be ashamed of their problems and seek help via doctors and therapists.
